      • Thank you for taking the time to nominate for the Living Sport Sports Awards 2019, which recognise and celebrate the achievements of talented sportsmen and women and teams, the significant contribution made by coaches and volunteers to the development of their sport, and the organisations and clubs from all across the county who are using sport and physical activity to have a positive impact on peoples lives

        The Sports Awards will be taking place on 28th November 2019 at the Burgess Hall, St Ives.  Nominations are open from the 19th August 2019.

        Please read the following before continuing:

        Eligibility Information:

        • The deadline for nominations is 29th September 2019; forms received after this date will not be processed.
        • Nominations are accepted for individuals and groups living, competing for a club / school, or born within the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough area. 
        • Nominations will be accepted from all sources. Individuals/Groups can nominate themselves.
        • There are no restrictions on the number of nominations that any one individual can submit. 
        • Use the award criteria as a guide to writing a nomination and include, within the word count, information, facts and evidence.
        • The panel reviews every nomination and makes judgement on the accuracy and strength of the information provided so clearly state why your nominee deserves the award. The judging process is  based purely on quality, not on the number of nominations. Duplicate nominations written by different people are not needed.
        • The Awards team reserves the right to seek verification on information included in a nomination form and may contact you to discuss in more detail. 
        • In previous years, nomination forms have been received with limited information, facts and evidence which significantly  reduces the chance of that nominee being shortlisted. Please take the time to consider what you are writing within the word count. Sub headings and bullet points are acceptable.

        Nominations are invited for organisations (or parts of an organisation), partnerships, projects or individuals who have improved sport and physical activity participation within their local community including developing people.  Nominations will be considered against the following criteria:
        • Development of a new pathway which has been effective in encouraging participation in sport by any group.
        •      Evidence of wide, strong, successful and embedded working within the local community.
        •      Delivery of an outstanding event which engaged greater participation and/or which highlighted the benefits of participating in sport and physical activity.
        •      Development of people to support the delivery of sport and physical activity.
        •      Can demonstrate key achievements using sport and physical activity to contribute to the five outcomes of the Government's Sports Strategy.
